stamping on an 1906 variation navy, pls help ..

This "pinwheel" mark is an inspector's mark usually found next to the recoil lug on the bottom of the receiver. It is also found in that location on the 1906 Russian and Bulgarian model Lugers from roughly the same time period as your Navy. So while this marking is not common it is not unique to your gun.

Would you have a pic of a 1906 Russian Luger with that mark??? In fact, I would be interested to see all the marks on a 1906 Russian Luger...I am a believer...

Here ya go. Not the sharpest photo but one I could pull up quickly. I need to take a better photo someday. I have another photo that is a bit clearer, but although it is a Russian it isn't my gun so I really don't have permission to post it with its serial number.

does anyone have information regarding the reason for setting of this specific inspector stamp, which production process was check befor setting the qualitymark ....

or will this be an everlasting secret of the parabellumproduction.

Hi Wolfgang, One can find numerous markings, in the interior of most Lugers, whose precise meaning is lost to time. Considering The location of your mark, my guess is that it is a personal mark identifying the individual who installed the barrel. I have several pictures in my data base that show these symbols.
