I do not know about any fire but who knows.... the parts were in the bottom of his ww2 dufflebag wrapped in waxed paper. Thanks for the explanation about the sight.....it is a 2 position sight. I could not figure the 100 stamp...now..... I know 100 meters and 200 meters I would say it that it is somewhat unsual as my lugar does not have this feature. Maybe why dad wanted to save it.
