what does "correct holster" mean?

Agree with above.

When I am trying to 'match up', I look for either a holster;

1. A year before, same year or the year after, the same year being the best (but not always the most likely when issued)

2. A period or type, if its an army, then an army holster and not a police or a P38 holster (happens all the time, and that they came back this way)

IIRC, color is also a factor...If you have a Luftwaffe-issued Krieghoff, then a brown P08 holster would be correct...Would it not???
