I have to say I'm a bit disapointed at what I've read about the Mitchell Lugers.

I was fantasizing about how cool a Luger would be for defensive carry. My first thought was to look into the stainless ones. I like stainless for a carry gun, stainless likes me. Seemed a good place to start. I haven't read anything that leads me to believe I should bet my life on one of those guns. In fact, I haven't found any information to lead me to think that any Luger should be considered for a carry gun. Seems they have a reputation for only wanting ball ammo which is only good for target practice or for serving in armies obliged to use ball ammo.

I looked at the Erma 32 and 380 Luger lookalikes. Those don't seem like a good bet for defensive carry. Smaller round and it still wants ball ammo. I do think that I'd buy one if the price was right just because they look like fun, but strictly as a fun gun.

So dissapointing that the modern stainless version of one of the most iconic handguns is not up to the task of being a daily carry. What's the point of a stainless gun that you can't really count on to ride in an IWB holster or in a tackle box then come out and shout BANG at the right time. Bummer.

I still love the look of the Luger and the history of them. CC with one just isn't in the cards.
