I belong to a private list of real world operators, designers and manufacturers of weapons and systems.
Without intending to belittle anybody's opinion here, the real world gun people I am privileged to know all agree that this show is populated by clowns. Just watching the Ma Deuce episode showed me who they are. They brought in a known M2 expert, (Christos) who I am familiar with. The show's star belittled Christo's attempts to impart some history and safety advice to the shop. Instead, they were more interested in getting the gun built fast. It was more "git 'er done" versus "let's be safe and knowledable". The final scenes showed them trying to get the M2 running without the benefit of a headspace/timing guage, (trial and error). M2 out of batterys KILL!!!! They even let the daughter up there for a try. They then were surprised when they lit a dry field on fire with an APIT round! I really believe this show will prove to be a long term detriment to the shooting sports rather than a asset.. Last edited by alanint; 02-15-2011 at 08:12 PM. |

I'll second that....an M2 is nothing for yahoos to screw around with. I was at Ft Polk in the 80's, and some guy in another company didnt bother to use the headspace and timing gauge...it blew that heavy feed tray cover and the spade grip assy. clean off and messed him up pretty badly, but he lived.

Years ago no one but a few even were aware of the art of gunmaking not to mention a the construction of a silencer. I fault them of educating that a silencer as any non_intended modification for any firearm such as a shotgun, a use for which I'm sure was never intended! I agree with You wholeheartedly! But then the old First amendment comes shining through! There are at any gunshow or computer site showing that almost anything is possible, therefore proboble~

I totally agree! I stumbled on this episode and thought it was strange (and rude) the way they mocked Christo and his knowledge on history! I think It's another way to get more people to watch. Just like Pawn Stars, Orange County hoppers, and the rest of those so called reality shows. Producers always through in controversy and drama to sell the show, even if it makes everyone look like idiots! Unfortunately, most viewers don't have a clue and think all this crap is real! Bob |
