Default Police luger with mauser banner

Hello

can anyone tell me the value of this gun, it is marked with police eagle.. also marked with 1940 and mauser banner.. the gun was taken from a german officer in 1945, and have not shoot since that time, it is as new over all, with two non matching mags and police marked holster and tool.. hope you can help..

Regards Simon

The closeup photographs are excellent, but it would also be good to see overall pictures and pictures of the magazine including the bottom.

Assuming all original finish and all matching parts, in 98% condition, you have a rather valuable Luger. I don't know police Luger values, and others on the board have a better background.

The additional pictures will help them give you an estimate.

Simon,
The sear safety is riveted to the frame above the sear. It prevents accidental discharge with the sideplate removed. See the Mauser Parabellum Hallock, van de Kant page 342.
Jan Still estimates ,1940 E/C pistols, 1130 procured. 1940 E/L 3300 procured. See Third Reich Lugers Vol.III by Still page146.
Cheers,
Jason

From the photos, Sink's gun does appear to have a sear safety but no magazine safety, although better photos would confirm this

I know it is unusual for me to actually refer to the FAQ, but here's a pic showing the police sear safety...

A VERY uneducated guess on these models, what with the condition, mags and holster, assuming that it is all matching except the mags, I'd be in the $2,000 US range. What say the rest of you?
