Default Re: Border Shipping

Hi Alex,

I have had some experience in bringing a Luger in from Canada. To make a long story short, the process took over a year. Seems ATF has set up some certification requirements about how long the piece has been in Canada and assorted other arcane things that only a Govt bureaucrat would care to know.

The real danger however, is on the buyers end. If the piece is not as advertised, the buyer must go through the Export process to get the gun returned to the seller. If seller is in Canada, I believe there are substantial problems with re-importing. And, oh by the way, the gun will now have an import stamp on it...

I am very glad we do not get all the government we pay for!

Hope this helps

Tom
