Default Lahti

hello all;

I know this is a for sale item; as its on me and Tom's site, but thought it interesting enough to pass along here:

There has been several informational pieces in Napa's AutoMag about the M40 Lathi's I e-mailed Peter Rasmussen about the two I had. Below is my request and Peter's reply. It appears that the M40 I have listed on your site was utilized by a Danish SWAT Team unit. Might want to add to your description as makes it a little more interesting. I personally collected them because of my Danish ancestry.

1. M40 serial number 68845 marked Rplt S 163 Reddish Brown plastic grips and is complete rig, holster, spare magazines and tools. This pistol is shown at the below listed site as they have it on consignment.

When the Danish military unit, Danforce, that was trained by the Swedes 1942 to 1945 returned to Denmark 6 of May 1945, they had complete equipment for themselves 100 men and for 200 men more. all this was used by the Danish army until 1949, were it was replaced by discarded US and British stuff, some were returned to Sweden and some of the M40 was transferred to the police. The S marked pistols were used by what we today calls SWAT Team,In Denmark "calles afdeling (department) S". There were 4 of them. the largest in Copenhagen, the others were in Odense, Aarhus and Aalborg. I have seen S numbers to well over 100.

So, should I jack the price up $500?

Very interesting information!
It came to me right on time, as I was offered a nice Lahti M40 rig with Danish police marking.
Right on the bull's eye!
Thanks a lot!
