Barrel re-lining & re-barrel???

Kyrie,

I had an 03 Springfield made in the early 1920s which had a superb bore except for two BIG pits in it. One was near the middle and the other near the muzzel. You would think this would ruin the accuracy, but it was the best shooting 03 I ever had. I could keep 8 out of 10 rounds in the "X" ring at 200 yards prone every time.
