Default Re: BYF 41 Question: Slide Flush w/ Frame?

mm,

I have seen all differnt type combinations of fit in this area from what you describe to a pistol which looks like the parts were all machined together.

Some of the the worst in this area are the late war P.38s. At the beginning of production the fir was perfect, but in 1944, I have noticed that the area would have all diffent type fits. This does not cause any problems with the pistol operation, it is just an appearacne thing.

I have stated this before, but we all expect perfection in fit, finish, operation of German weapons, but they were trying to save cost and time just as the US and Britain was doing in manufacturing. Notice the US pistols and rifles deteriorated in fir and finish as the war progressed.
