The grip inscibtion is a unit mark and means Infantrie Regiment 43, 5. Kompagnie, Waffe Nr. 17.
The honor name was Herzog Karl von Mecklenburg Strelitz. Station for the II Bataillon and the 5. company was Pillau- the rest of the regiment was in Königsberg. It was part of the 1. army corps. It is the first time that I saw a unit mark on the grips but I think that it was made in 1916 and not in our days. I have no idea what the meaning of the G is. You got a nice Luger and 800 Euro was not too much. Regards Klaus |

In the italian luger forum, think is a fake, because the style of the caracter are not tipical of the period, and not resprect the place for this number.
