Default PRK Gun Laws

Fellow Forum Friends,

I am going to be in the Los Angeles area during Jan/Feb/Mar (beats the snow/sleet/ice of DC!!) and wish to scour the area for Luger purchasing opportunities. I have a Type 03 FFL. Are there any loonie laws in the Peoples Republic of Kalifornia that would preclude my purchasing?

I am a caucasian, middle aged, tax paying, combat veteran, heterosexual male-is that a disqualifier?

Thanks in Advance

Tom

Default Your a "angry white male"

Notice how we "angry white males" in this catagory are descriminated against daily by the liberals and Media, but its o.k. in their eyes because we also own "evil" firearms.

Default Re: PRK Gun Laws - don't bash Kalifornia!

Before you toss all "Kalifornians" in the same kooK bin, remember that "Kalifornia" produced that wacky liberal president Ronald Reagan. Konservative talk show Rush Limbaugh got his start here at a Sacramento (Das Kapital of Kalifornia) Radio station. The fastest growing Konservative talk show host Michael Savage is based in the "People's Republik of Kalif. (San Francisco even!). I bought my first sidearm at a gun shop in San Francisco. Conservative Orange County is in California as is the acclaimed conservative and markedly anti-communist Hoover Institute at Stanford. Oh, remember our red-bashing president Richard M. Nixon - he was born and raised in Southern California! Being a state of open-minded hospitable people we welcome everyone - INCLUDING YOUR STATE'S LOOSE NUTS (to our detriment). But it makes for an interesting, if not homogeneous population. Check out RedStar Museum in Culver City - a large selection of German and Communist Bloc Curios and Relics. Look in the Yellow pages in Southern California - you will find a large selection gun stores. Enjoy the nice weather 70-80 degrees in Jan-Feb. it's nice! mm

Tom, Even though most C&R pistols are exempt from the drop test and legal to sell in Ca, you may find that many shops will not accept a C&R license. CA. resident holders of these still have to pay a state fee and observe the waiting period, just like they had no license at all. The fact that you are from out of state may work in your favor, if the shop owner knows the law. You may have better luck buying at a show, so check out the schedules in the SGN or GunList and plan your itinerary around that. Tom h

Thanks Tom; and for the rest, I wasn't bashing the PRK per se, just the nutzoid laws that get passed there.

I can remember when California was one of the most gun friendly states in the Union.

I guess that somewhere between the Summer of Love and Acid, Haight Ashbury, "Chuckles" Manson, The Panthers, Huey Lewis, er, make that Newton, The Simbianese Liberation Follies, Hanoi Jane, & Diane Frankenfeinstein, Harvey Milk, the Twinkie defense, The Rodney King Summer Games, "If it don't fit you must acquit" and some other pure Kalifornia Moments, the good folks like the Gipper, Rush, et al, just don't come across loudly as Kalifornians.

Mebbe there is more than one Kalifornia. I heard a country song that said there ain't no Arizona, so mebbe, just mebbe that place I thought was Kalifornia is *really* what is where there ain't no Arizona is/was/s'posed to be.

This gettin' way too weird.

Hi Tom:

I have a California Certificate of Eligibility that allows residents all the privileges of the Curios and Relics License. All it does is wave the 10 waiting period and I can have a gun shipped directly to me. I still have to pay $15 to have the gun registered. You get to send in the paperwork yourself without going through an FFL. Dealers here should accept your FFL. The COE is for California residents only. Come and enjoy our weather and entertainment. Good Luck may bring you a really nice Luger to boot.

Should you miraculously find anything worth buying in Kalifornia, be prepared to pay at least 40% more than it would cost elsewhere.

Default Try This

Hey! Did someone forget poor old Johnny Walker? I thought that he was originally from Kalifornia. Another one of Hanoi Janes followers.

But seriously, I often have mentioned the regionality of buying Lugers and have always thought of Kalifornia as one of the more expensive states. (Be prepared to pay a lot more for gasoline) My brother lives in Escondido and after they lost the Pimona gun show he said that it relocated to Lost Wages, Nevada. Check out the Gun List magazine for shows there.
