The 45th. Infantry division wore this patch prior to WW2, as their lineage was the Southwest, they chose a Navajo good luck symbol, the swastika. They later renamed themselves the Thunderbird Division, to continue the navajo simbolism without the onus of the cross the nazis corrupted.....
