How to remove old linseed oil

I use Murphy's oil soap to remove grime; and if painted or the like, I use orange paint remover, fairly gentle (as is Formby's); let them dry, but then I'd put linseen oil back on mine. Most likely yours has something else or like you said, several coatings that is dried and yucky
