You’re right, John. If I had not gotten my lawyer involved and sent him those letters I would most likely still be getting excuses and promises of “four more weeks.” If he had just contacted me on occasion to inform me there was going to be a significant delay I would have been fine with that, instead I was always the one chasing him down for an explanation.

And it is too bad. I had original intentions of sending him more work – the guy could have made a few bucks off of me alone – but instead I’m now looking for someone else.

If anyone is considering sending Eugene work best to establish a firm completion date in advance and stick to it. Maybe keep your own letter of intent ready in advance, just in case. Also keep all your records and receipts – again, just in case.
