As usual at my age I always seem to forget something. The forth area of interest in the 1937-S/42 Luger production is the change from the DE-63 Inspector to the SE-63 Inspector. My records lead me to believe this acceptance mark transition started in the - u - block and continued well into the - a - block. It's my opinion this change is very important to the serious collector. Fact is, if we look hard enough, 1937 military Lugers can be found with a SE-63 DE-63 combination of Inspectors. Good Luck

Transitional acceptance stamps 1937 S/42, sn 2926z, DE63 SE63. The change from DE to SE is shown in the table above.

Don
You have for years stood on the sidelines and made suggestions on how Forum members were doing it all wrong in collecting Mauser Luger data (you made similar comments on the GLCPAP Forum years ago). I know that you have a huge collection of Mauser Lugers. However, in all this time I have never observed you supply data (specific Luger information) to the members of this Forum or the German Luger Central Powers and Axis Pistols Forum.

If you can do such a superior job I encourage you to set up your own table complete with your criteria for data entry here on this Forum. Get in the trenches and do a little work instead of sniping from the sidelines. The collectors on this forum are very interested in Mauser Lugers and will be helpful in supplying data. I look forward to your Mauser Luger data table on this Forum.
Thanks
Jan
