There were ways to bring guns back in the 1950's and even up to now. A GI stationed there could buy, register it and bring it back. There were times where lugers could be bought at the Rod and Gun club (I did not have any where I was stationed).
So, point is, lots of ways to have guns brought back. :0 A new set of grips or old ones in wood or black plastic plus an FXO magazine could be purchased fairly easily and put it back to normal. Ed
