John is quite correct of course! I just returned from Cody Wyoming, a visit to the Buffalo Bill Firearms Museum and a trip thru Yellowstone National Park.
One further thing...These knots were hand tied. They are extremely varied in width, thickness & placement. They varied from WW1 to WW2, I have a bag of them I have collected over the years and almost no two are alike. Some on early holsters were made of canvas and riveted! Jerry Burney
