John,
I have a 1900 (2 piece) spring, unfortunately one of the leafs are broken and some tried to repair it. I would be happy to send it to someone who would like to dissect it and try to make reproductions. I'm sure the cost would be a lot less than $480. I guess the value of my 1900's just went up a lot Let me know Jim
