Default Re: Lugers in movies/and books

In the book, "Marathon Man," towards the end, the hero is to meet the villain who killed his brother and tortured the hero to locate missing diamonds. He knows that the villain will frisk him but he needs a weapon.

The hero takes a Luger owned by his brother and fieldstrips it. He loads the chamber with a round, reassembles the cannon and tapes it to his wrist under a heavy winter coat. The villain frisks him, but misses the Luger cannon. The hero raises his wrist and fires the single round by pressing the sear.

I do not believe this was in the movie which starred Dustin Hoffman. However, some of you might be interested in reading the book, which was a pretty good thriller.

Also, I don't think I would try that trick at home.
