Hi Christian,
You are right, I am writing with the help of some friends, a book that covers the post WWII Mauser Parabellum production; from 1945 until 1999 when Mauser sold the new Parabellum production line to Blaser.
Concerning the LP08, it is hard to say. What I can tell you is that four LP08 are reported in the second variation (mine is one of them) and six in the third variation.
The continue monitoring of the serial number, mainly in France, can help us in populating the serial number database.
