Many of the guns where in that condition or worse. I think the Colt was put away dirty! As far as I know, my dad was the last person to clean the guns and that was in 1983. It's been 60 odd years since my Grandfather was in the Army and he's now, for the most part, blind, so I'll cut him some slack. Besides, a Luger (and value thereof) means something different to him than it does to me. Anyway, everything has been cleaned, bathed in oil, and out of the damp basement. I won't tell you what some of the holsters looked like when they came out of the gun cabinet in the basement.
