The Model 1908 Bulgarian, purchased by Bulgaria in 1910 and 1911, was 9mm. The 1900 and 1906 Bulgarians were 7.65mm but many were converted to 9mm after the purchase of the 1908 model. The 1908 Bulgarian is one of the more interesting and unusual variations. It had the DWM logo on the chamber rather than the toggle; the toggle was marked with the lion in shield simplified version of the Bulgarian crest; and the lanyard loop was moved from the back of the frame to the bottom of the grip. The "rampant lion" of the Bulgarian crest was used in miniature as the proof.
