Default What is "strawing"

Dumb question but I had to ask. What parts are strawed and what does it look like? Do all lugers have strawing?

Hi Bill,

Strawing is in reference to the "Straw" yellow color of the trigger, take down lever, magazine release, safety lever and ejector bar. The color is obtained by controlled heat treating.

Strawing was discontinued early in 1937 with the change over to hot salt bluing by Mauser.
