Hi Jim.

Your Luger # 29048 was made by the Swiss at Bern in the year 1929 when they made 1,401 guns that year; as listed on V. Bobba's Swiss production tables in his Swiss luger book.

BTW...does the "island" on your trigger side plate extend all the way to the top edge of the side plate ?

The "9" on your holster maker's mark may indicate the holster was made in 1909...that would be my guess. The markings across the top of the stamping would probably be the name of the saddler who made your holster...located in the city of Bern.

I try to match up a gun's year of manufacturer to the same date on the holster...takes some time to find the right leather date and in the right condition, but I am just a bit "OCD" (obsessive, complusive disorder...) about having the dates line up...
