I can get groups of 2.5" or so at 25 yards even with the mediocre sights.

Many years ago (probably 20+) a buddy bought a H&K 9mm that cost a fortune and we'd go out to the range or desert together. He'd brag on the hexagonal rifling and state of the art German engineering but my $100 Frankenstein Luger shot right along with his. Off hand or from a rest he never could beat me. (That was mainly due to the fact he wasn't a great shot.) Anyway it was interesting to pit WWI German craftmanship against new.
