Welcome fellow Michigander,
The Novi show is probably the best gun show in Michigan. There was a show there this past weekend. Too bad you missed it. You are right about there being a lot of flint locks. The shows rules are only guns made on or before 1964. Not much there as far as Lugers on Saturday. I picked up a neat navy holster and missed out on a 1906 navy that some guy, who was walking around, had but didn't bring with him. I asked him to bring it to the Sunday show. He did, but he sold it to a dealer before I had a chance to see it. I should have kept my mouth shut and went to his house to see it. As an apologetic gesture, he gave me an original artillery cleaning rod with a proof mark on the stem. Oh well, there are other Lugers.

The were two other 1906 navy Lugers there but both seemed to be redone. One of them was buffed and reblued for $4500. Rediculous! I don't know the price of the other one.

When you walk in the front door, go to the right wall and there are two guys there who always have Lugers for sale. One guy is Luger George (he has a Russian last name that nobody can pronounce) and the other guy is Art Wasek, who is selling off his collection and usually has 5 or 6 there, but no shooters that I know of. Other than that, the pickings were really slim at this particular show. Lugers there go in streaks. Maybe it was just too cold outside.

Another possibility is Weasels Gun Shop on Ryan and Nine Mile road. You might pay a bit more here than at other places, but they are not out of this world. (At least the last time I was there) One young guy there seems to know a little about Lugers, but isn't a wizbang.
