Blue is easy to remove. There are some commercial products such a Birchwood Casey Blue remover here in the US. However-----White distilled vinegar will do the this easily. Just put parts in a container of the vinegar and wait a few hours. Then clean them with fine wire wheel on a grinder or use 0000 steel wool. Easy as can be. Then if pitting remains---use what ever sanding you want to do! Vinegar also removes active rust---but pits will remain of course. Have used Vinegar for years----cheap and easy.
