David, you really got me wondering if what I assumed was true. So...
I just got back from the vault. I tried several different types of 9mm hollowpoints (I don't have any HP .30) in several different types of Luger mags. It seemed as thought the Mec-Gar mags accepted the HP rounds very well and the standard Luger mags, three that I tested anyway, had a bit of a hangup while feeding. I didn't try to cycle them through but it does show that the newer mags SEEM to accept them more readily. This is, of course, just an unscientific sampling... ![]() In short, I still don't know for sure...
