Gary, Most Collectors don't believe Lugers were ever Nickled at the factory! Most are from GIs that had them done that way after the war, at least that is the general concensus I believe. and that would by byf not bdf? You have a flashy looking shooter grade Luger IMO Even with the numbers appearing sharp, it is not a factory gun! I rust blue Lugers and can keep the letters and stampings looking crisp if they are close to non pitted metal. The old bluing is removed by chemical process that leaves the base metal intact! Wish the news was better for you! The Nickel does protect it fairly well I would imagine. ~Thor~
