I applied for my FFL03 7 weeks ago and as I wait for it's arrival the question,
"can a C&R Luger be sent directly to me in California if I have a FFL03", has been perplexing. I've researched the internet and also talked to local dealers. I had come to the conclusion that I must go through a FFL01 to make the transfer. Well, after reading this thread I decided to go straight to the source, the Cal Dept of Justice. (Kind of like asking for directions after being lost for 2 Hours). The call was made on 10/10/06 at 4:10pm PST. Bonnie of the DOJ straight out told me that a C&R hand gun can be sent directly to me !! I then must fill out a C&R form #FD4100A and send it in within 30 days, with the fee of course. A little late for me as I have already coughed up $65 to transfer my first Luger through a FFL01 dealer. Questions? Call the DOJ at 916-263-4887 Tom |
