I'm not sure this means much given today's ammo is out of spec and we are dealing with old guns, old magazines, possibly out of spec recoil springs, etc.
How ever, I will say that in my youth I had a 1920 commercial in 7.65 that never had a single malfunction in the entire time I owned it over several years. Now the kicker. This wasn't just with factory ball loads, this was with factory ball loads, and handloads using lead semi-wadcutters and full wadcutters as well! The full wadcutters were not seated flush with the case mouth. I ended up trading it off on a S&W M29 in the days when the M29s were made out of unobtanium. I still have that M29. The trade required some cash at a time when I had very little cash but did have an understanding wife. |
