Hi Rod,

My 1917 measures.284 to .287 at the top of the lug.
1940 .289 to .290

I would have to think about what to do here.

You can buy some riffler (bent) Swiss files to make the track wider or you can just skim some material off the lug and reblue it.

I have had very good luck with Blue Wonder bluing product.It stays on better than cold blue.

I was able to match the bluing on a S&W model 10 and a Russian Nagant pistol & two SKSs.

Or look for someone to trade for an Odin stock.

I really don't remember any deep gouges in the stock.Can you steam them out?

I'm about to strip a nice repro.artillery stock as the wood is much darker than all the orignals I have seen.
