Hi Tom,
You have backed into yet another controversy While "Small Arms of the World" indicates the Czech "M48" 7.62x25 cartridge is "20% hotter" than Soviet M30 7.62x25 Tokarev pistol ammunition, this may be a grand error. The only Czech M48 cartridge of which I've been able to find any mention is a 9x19 Parabellum cartridge intended for use in the early versions of the prototype pistols that would eventually become the Vz.52 (aka CZ52). Smith may well have confused pistols and cartridges :-( Also (and I'm not yanking your chain, just offering a friendly correction), the Vz.50 (aka Cz50) is a pocket pistol chambered for the 7.65 Browning.
