The gold colored parts are actually what is called "strawed" This finish was pretty much standard until 1937 (feel free to chime in and correct me if I got the year wrong) when the demand and pressures of wartime production caused the Germans to go to bluing as the standard finish for all parts in an effort to increase production by eliminating the fancy stuff... http://www.lugerforum.com/owner_gallery/GT/Dscn1776.jpg |
