With that idea in mind, the WurfkÃ?Â¶rper ammunition was developed. They were essentially hand grenades attached to shafts which were inserted into the gun and fired. After experimentation with overly heavy warheads from the 'potato masher' it was decided to use lighter 'egg grenade' rounds. These rounds could travel to about 80 meters. In total under 300,000 WurfkÃ?Â¶rper rounds were made.
