Gruss Gott,alle!
I've hesitated in making this post for a while because I'm aware many on this forum consider the new stainless Lugers by Aimco not to be "real".In spite of this,I feel a need to say "Thank you" to all who have directly or indirectly helped transform a dream into reality. Through the dedicated hard work of Gary and Colleen Reeder (Listed in the links & resources section),I am now the grateful owner of a true "one of a kind" Pistole Parabellum! I wanted to have them engrave one of the stainless pistols for in honor of my late wife.I merely asked that instead of putting my name on it,could they please incoporate her initials somewhere in the design.Gary asked me if I might like to take it a step further since my intentions were of a special nature. He went the extra 1,000 miles to contact a friend who works with Aimco and arranged to have a P08 made with her name as the serial#.He wasn't sure he could do it,but he'd try.He was successful! The gun is engraved throughout(even the safety blade has a ceremonial feather fan on it- my girl was of the "native American" persuasion).Even with all the extra work on his part,he still remembered my original request. He put her initials on the rear of the frame in beautiful script letters just below the point where the rear toggle comes to rest on hold open.He and his people created a treasured tribute to the woman I still love dearly! I apologize for my long-windedness,but I had to say "Thank You!!!!" to each and every one of you who helped make this possible.Especially to those of you whose dedication and hard work maintain this Forum.Without your assitance this dream would almost certainly have remained just that,a fantasy. Once again,my grateful thanks!! Tschuss! Mark M. |
