Post Doah.. How Do It Know?

Okay forum wizards admins,

Just when I thunk I know somethin'.

I have posted a few images - which I have acquired on my scanner, then exported as .jpg files. These steps can present their own challanges, because depending on the scanner resolution -AND- image quality during the export to keep them below 200k, it usually takes me several attempts.

The scans almost always seem really BIG when I display them in a browser, but at least they have appeared with lots of detail.

Here's the thing. I posted scans of a mag last week. Went through the ususal fiddling. When I first looked at the post, only the highlighted URL showed up, but you could click to get the image.

When I checked back - there were very nice thumbnails in the post. I thought it looked good, almost dislocated my shoulder patting myself on the back.

With my new image posting ability, and after reading the tutorial at the top of this forum - I placed two more scans in a post. Lo and behold, those GIANT images were in the thread.

Are the thumbnail images something the forum admins do to clean up, improve performance, or just mess with the newbie's?

Any suggestions to make it go smoothly (for either myself or you) in the future?

Thanks for all your work behind the curtain,
Fritz.
