Okay forum wizards admins,
Just when I thunk I know somethin'. I have posted a few images - which I have acquired on my scanner, then exported as .jpg files. These steps can present their own challanges, because depending on the scanner resolution -AND- image quality during the export to keep them below 200k, it usually takes me several attempts. The scans almost always seem really BIG when I display them in a browser, but at least they have appeared with lots of detail. Here's the thing. I posted scans of a mag last week. Went through the ususal fiddling. When I first looked at the post, only the highlighted URL showed up, but you could click to get the image. When I checked back - there were very nice thumbnails in the post. I thought it looked good, almost dislocated my shoulder patting myself on the back. With my new image posting ability, and after reading the tutorial at the top of this forum - I placed two more scans in a post. Lo and behold, those GIANT images were in the thread. Are the thumbnail images something the forum admins do to clean up, improve performance, or just mess with the newbie's? ![]() Any suggestions to make it go smoothly (for either myself or you) in the future? Thanks for all your work behind the curtain, Fritz. |
