Someone *really* should put an Off-topic discussion area for these kind of posts. I'll see if I can't speak to the "management" and get it to happen
HOWEVER...I was doing another circuit change this AM, and in the middle of it, I got a phone call from a friend who told me "he just saw a terrific P 38 Rig" at a local gun store. Hmmmm.. The phone call was about the same time Orv posted his "Gun Laws" on the P-38 Forum Discussion Forum ( http://www.p38forum.com ) ... So - I finished up as quick as I could - and headed out to the store, about 30 minutes away... Well - my buddy can't tell a P-38 worth a damn. BUT - what was there was a WW2 Vet bring-back Hi-Power RIG. All original, matched - and was obviously a field piece. The holster (pig skin) is in VG shape. The pistol itself has about 50% blue, one correct mag (the other mag is old, but not correct). I've been looking for one of these for a long time - as a field/battle RIG that was NOT stored in a desk drawer by someone. So I now own it. Orv's words were ringing in my ears from his thread on the P-38 Forum where he posted today "..I have never regretted buying a gunâ?¦just the ones I did not buy, or have sold.." Damn you Orv - I couldn't be happier!!! Thanks!!! John D. |
