Talking Ejector Replacement--End Of Story

Just got back from the gun show with another ejector. Installing it was no problem. Put some Brake Free on it, slipped it into place, pressed down over the locating tab with my finger while I applied forward pressure on the back end with a screwdriver, and it *snapped* into place nice as you please.

The moral of this story is, if you ever break an ejector and have to replace it, be sure to take the broken part along to find a replacement which matches. I noted earlier that the locking tab on my first attempt was too large. I also discovered by coincidence, as I was flipping through a copy of Datig's book (I think) on a dealer's table, that there is considerable variation in the actual position of the locking tab for different model guns. No details (I bought some books but not that one), merely a cautionary note that something as simple as ejector replacement can trip you up.
So I'm off to the range tomorrow, yippee! <img src="graemlins/jumper.gif" border="0" alt="[jumper]" />
