I recently acquired an LP-08, 1917/1920. Germany stamped on right rail. All matching except the mag and in excellent condition. Never reblued or reworked. Unit mark on front gripstrap: 27.R.S.B.3.N.Z.9 (all caps, no italics). The N.Z. stands for a communications/radio group but what is the the first part? It doesn't seem Imperial and Weimar would have forward slashes. Possibly a Friekorps mark between 11/18 and 1920, thence to the Weimar Army? Ideas appreciated.
Thanks, Shelly |
