Question Unscrewing Barrel

The project is to unscrew the barrel from a LUGER receiver without damaging both.

Questions:

Can that be undertaken by the untrained individual or it's strickly a Gunsmith's job?

What are the basic tools needed? ( I heard of barrel blocks made of wood? )

What is the procedure?

Thanks for the information
