Value? DWM Commercial Army 1 of 450
I have a 1913/14 DWM Commercial/ Army serial 69934. It's apparently one of 450 or so made. Jan Still had #69911 that I was interested in buying, but it sold immediately. Seeing his got me looking around to try to find a value and there simply haven't been any recent sales. So, how do I value mine? I see the recent Rock Island sales of some of Jan Still's collection. Collectibility, I assume, is based on scarcity. So his Commercial Krieghoff (1 of 200) with 2 matching mags fetched $38,188. Certainly a rarity and priced as such. Second highest was a 1 of 1500 Bulgarian 1906 at $22,325. In very high condition for pistols of that contract but in similar condition to my Commercial/ Army. A 1/1000 1900 American Eagle US Army test w/ holster sold for $18,800. And a 1902 Prussian Army test 1/50 sold for $16,450. An incredibly nice Commercial Krieghoff with 1 matching mag 1/200 sold for $12,925 and seemed a bargain compared to the similar one from the same series. A 1908 Bulgarian Luger 1/10,000 in lower condition sold for $5,288. I assume these numbers are without buyer premium or sales tax. Pics of mine:
