A little bit confusing,
Pistol is a Military 1908 3rd 1ssue. It has it's original rust blue finish and a good bore.It came with Post War Grips that I replaced with Imperial Era grips ( light blond color ). The confusing issue is that the complete top ( barrel, receiver & toggle ) has all parts matching by Erfurt 1913 dated Serial no 8230. The frame assembly ( also all parts matching ) is DWM Serial no. 8289a. So a mixed top-bottom pistol! But the difference in numbers isnt that big. So my theory is that the 28th Regiment ( Machine Gun Company ) received pistols made by both ERFURT & DWM and some soldiers mixed both top & bottom during a firearms cleaning session! ( commonly seen when I was in the Armed Forces! ). Any other explanations? THX, Mark ( kidvett )
