Is there any way besides some sort of brass catcher to lessen the ejection of brass?
Just curious. Not without screwing up the function of the pistol. Figure out which direction the brass goes, you may need a spotter; then put down a tarp or sheet in that area.  GT had a supply of brass in the past, you may want to see if he has more and buy some. His price was quite reasonable.
