Germany barrels
A friend of mine went and helped an older gentleman on some assorted lugers - I should let him tell it, but my recollection of it was 3 or 4 artillerys and a couple of military 9mm 4'.
He said that they were all fairly rough and mismatched, in addition to likely have been basement gunsmith barrel added (he could see rough markings on an artillery barrel) One of the artillerys was missing a firing pin, spring and retainer. The older guy had some assorted parts, couple of barrels, etc. My friend told me about it and asked if I had an extra firing pin, retainer, spring and I said, sure. A few days later two barrels arrived. I call them the attic look. VERY dry, and bluing just seems a tiny bit off color. I oiled them several times and now they look just about new but would not surprise me if they dry out a bit. I think new old stock? **If after the war, would they have been marked 'made in german"? ****If recent, would they have been marked at all? |
