I agree that high condition/expensive items or overblown descriptions demand extra caution. IMO shill risk is greater when the item cost is greater, so pursuing lower condition or flawed pistols decreases the risk from shills.
The paradox is while GB seems to have shills, no shortage of overpriced/misrepresented pistols etc. the greater universe of Luger sellers sadly contains similar significant risk. Also my own experience and the experience of others shared on the forum indicates market-priced pistols can be found on auction sites, including GB. As well as the occasional bargain. Also, known reputable sellers like Legacy have significant GB offerings. If a seller or particular auction is known to be unusually bad, I agree avoid it, but I would not put GB in that category. |
