Question byf 42 and holster inquiry

When I think about the question I am about to ask it is no doubt a real stretch but here goes.
I am in possession of a byf42 Luger and its original holster, both in very good condition. The weapon has all matching numbers (except for the two mags) and on the back of the holster you can plainly see the stampings of the manufacturer, the inspectors stamp and the words P.08. It seems to me that it is a worthy collectors piece.
The question I have is....I know that this weapon was a vet bring back and on the inside of the holster flap the original owner (not the veteran) carved their initials "H H". I was wondering if there was a site I could get to that carried an inventory that might tell me who the weapon may of been issued to or perhaps its history?

Thanks.....
