Being also a 1911 aficionado I can say that I tested the Remington R1 right after it came on the market, as far as I can remember it worked fine, it had a nice trigger pull, a pretty good finishing. Since I belong to the "1911 old school" I did appreciate the efforts to produce such a classic 1911. Rgds Sergio
