Default Luger Holster Carry

Seems like the holster was made to carry worn on the left hip but a little forward for a basic cross draw indicated by the slant of the belt loops, but I have seen many original photographs with the pistol carried on the right hip. As regimented and precise as the Germans were, I am surprised there was not some kind of order carried down to mandate how it was to be worn (maybe there was that I am unaware of) Doesnt seem like they made any provisions for lefties, they just had to make the holster work for them. Any info on this? Thor
